Sand Lake, Oregon
Amidst the sea of sand, a cluster of pine trees form an island, surrounded by yellow monkey flowers (Mimulus guttatus). Both sky and sand in this magical location are ever changing due to weather and winds along the Oregon coast.
This enormous sand dune was created by strong winds as they move sand into the coastal forest, leaving the dunes to be constantly growing toward the Northeast, and the vegetation to be ever changing and adapting.
