I was only seven when I took my first oil painting class. My grandma, a wonderful painter with years of experience, had taken me to one of her painting classes. I remember the nervous joy that came with the first colorful strokes on that pristine, white canvas. After painting the background it was time for the bold silhouette of a tree in the foreground. Unskilled and unsure of myself, my grandma placed her hand over mine and guided the strokes of my first tree. The seeds for the love of art had been planted in my soul.

In 2004, after the death of my beloved grandmother, there was the question of who gets which paintings. With only one of each, it didn’t take long to find more than one relative longing for the same favorite pieces. This set off a chain of ideas in me, I needed to find a way to reproduce grandma’s paintings. Not only for me and my family but for the numerous other families faced with tough decisions during a time of loss.

After three years of research, testing materials, products and ideas, I finally had it – a way of reproducing fine art, stroke by loving stroke. I called it a Paintography. My own unique blend between a painting and photography. This groundbreaking style could not only be used to reproduce paintings but to transform all of my photographs into beautiful, fine art paintings as well.

Each Paintography is created on hand-stretched canvas and painted by hand in detailed strokes until it resembles a one-of-a-kind oil painting. This unique blend gave me the quality and uniqueness of an original painting with the sharp detail and skill of a master photograph.

In its first year this unique style took the world by storm, quickly becoming a customer favorite.
