Ridgelines

Linnton, Oregon

This morning’s sunrise comes, not with the shouts of vibrant colors, but in the quiet beauty of pastels.  The wildlife around me seems to agree, with the kind of quiet that only comes in the midst of nature, far from  the busy lights and sounds of the city.  The soft breeze whispers in the tops of the trees and the only sound is the wing beats of a bald eagle overhead.  The simplicity of this image reflects the quiet beauty that resonates from one ridgeline to the other, including all of nature and creatures in between.  It’s yet another reminder for me to take time to be still, to listen, look and learn from the immeasurable beauty that surrounds us.
